Our King of the Whiskey stills is named after the King of the Bootleggers, George Remus. A lawyer and prominent bootlegger during the Prohibition era, George Remus controlled much of the whiskey production and distribution in the Midwest. Remus was also known as a gracious host, throwing lavish parties, rumored to be the inspiration for the character Jay Gatsby in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.

Modeled after traditional pot stills that have made some of the world’s best whiskey’s, The Remus Pot Still is the best still for the home distiller endeavoring to make great tasting whiskey. All are parts are made from industrial grade, high quality materials sourced by American companies. Then built in our workshop in Missouri, the whiskey barrel capital of the world.

The 9 gallon still pot is perfect for a distilling a 5-7 gallon wash.

    • 36 QT (9 gal) Bayou Classic Stainless Steel Stockpot

    • Custom crafted heavy gauge copper dome

    • Silicone hollow core o-ring seals the pot and dome

    • 2” Copper distillation column is topped with a curved gooseneck

    • Removable tube-in-tube Liebig style water condenser

    • Extension tube to collect your distillate safely away from the still

    • High quality digital thermometer to monitor vapor temperature

    • Pharmaceutical grade silicone plug holds the digital thermometer
